Overview
The Principal Management Accountant is a key member of the management accounting team and is integral to the preparation of the QAS forward estimates, budgets and forecasts. The role works in consultation with the Director, Finance and Executive Director, Finance to ensure accurate, timely and relevant financial and performance analysis and reporting services are delivered to stakeholders and clients across the organisation and externally.

Key attributes
Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills and the proven ability to interpret and evaluate financial data and reports to identify the financial impact of issues, assess options and prepare recommendations.
Proven experience in delivering high quality management accounting services within a complex and geographically diverse organisational environment; with a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex financial concepts, negotiate with influence, resolve conflicts and prepare accurate reports and documentation.
Significant knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, Australian accounting standards, public sector financial management standards, policies and processes and experience in efficiently utilising financial information systems.
Demonstrated high level attention to detail with the proven ability to work methodically, plan and prioritise tasks, manage workflows and achieve outcomes within allocated timeframes.
Mandatory requirements and other conditions
Whilst not mandatory, an experienced accountant with tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or business and membership or eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body will be highly regarded.
