About The Role
WorkPac is seeking an experienced Transfer Station Driver Attendant Operator to support the safe and efficient handling, processing, and transport of waste, organic, and recyclable materials.
The role involves operating heavy combination vehicles and machinery, maintaining the transfer station and yard, assisting customers, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive heavy combination and heavy rigid vehicles to transport waste, organics, and recyclable materials to designated disposal and processing facilities.
* Ensure vehicles are correctly weighed and within legal limits at transfer stations, landfills, and other disposal sites.
* Operate transfer station equipment to load and unload goods and materials, including hard waste, recyclables, green waste, and food waste.
* Assist in the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of the Transfer Station, Recycling Facility, and Green Waste Facility.
* Provide excellent customer service to residents, contractors, and other stakeholders.
* Collect and reconcile Transfer Station fees and assist with the control of vehicle and pedestrian traffic through the site.
* Follow all City of Boroondara policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including VicRoads road laws and safety protocols.
* Participate in team meetings, training, and other operational activities as directed.
Skills And Experience Required
* Current Australian Heavy Combination (HC) drivers licence.
* Demonstrated experience operating heavy combination vehicles and a range of mechanical plant.
* Strong commitment to safety and compliance, including safe lifting and manual handling practices.
* Physical capability to perform manual labour in an outdoor environment.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public, management, and colleagues.
* Basic computer and data entry skills, including the use of digital timesheets, OHS reporting, and email.
* Satisfactory pre-employment checks, including:
* National Police Check
* Medical Check
* Working with Children Check
* VicRoads Driving History Report
