This role is ideal for an experienced carpenter or patio specialist who wants to step off the tools and into leadership, or a Production Manager who wants to build a team, grow a business, and progress into a General Manager role.
About the Role
You'll start by running projects end-to-end—working closely with the owner, managing our construction team, and ensuring patios are delivered to a high standard. As you prove yourself in this role, you'll have the opportunity to expand the team, improve systems, and move into a General Manager position, overseeing sales, production, and business growth.
As Production Manager, you will:
* Plan and manage patio builds from start to finish
* Order materials and coordinate suppliers
* Create and review basic construction plans.
* Manage scheduling across new builds and maintenance work
* Communicate with clients throughout the entire project lifecycle
* Lead, train, and support the construction team
* Ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
As you progress toward General Manager, you will:
* Help recruit and lead additional crews as the business grows
* Hire and manage sales and production support roles
* Work with the owner to develop and execute growth strategies
* Improve systems across sales, scheduling, and production
* Drive sales growth while maintaining quality and profitability
* Build a strong team culture and mentor future leaders
* Take ownership of business performance across crews and projects

Who We're Looking For
This role suits either an ambitious tradesman ready to step up or an experienced Production Manager ready to grow into a General Manager role.
* A qualified carpenter or patio builder with leadership ambitions
* A Production Manager with strong, hands on, patio or residential construction experience
* Strong experience in patio construction, roofing and framing is essential, with some experience in landscaping preferred but not essential.
* Solid understanding of metal roofing, flashings, gutters, and outdoor structures.
* Ability to break down jobs for accurate quoting and materials ordering.
* Confident communicator with customers and team members.
* Organised, proactive, and solutions‐focused.
* Natural leadership ability and desire to grow people and systems.
* Drafting or SketchUp experience is a bonus.
* Building licence preferred but not essential.
