Description
Foyer Oxford provides young people who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness, with self-contained transitional housing for up to two years. Foyer Oxford offers stable accommodation and personalised case management support to assist young people to remain engaged in full time education, training and employment and to develop skills to transition into living independently in the community.
As a Youth Worker, you will provide high quality and comprehensive strengths based case management services to young people accessing Foyer Oxford.
This is a full time (1.0 FTE - 37.5 hrs per week) max term opportunity ending in December 2026. This position is based in Leederville.
Qualifications and Experience
* Diploma level qualification in Human Services, combined with significant skills and experience in youth work, or tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or related behavioural science discipline (must meet current requirement for eligibility for full membership with Youth Work WA)
* Case management and assessment skills
* Understanding of youth housing and accommodation systems
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to accept, respect and work with young people from a broad range of backgrounds and abilities from different cultures, particularly with Aboriginal & CaLD young people who may identify as LGBTI from all belief systems.
* Ability to work in a team, to work collaboratively with others and build strong stakeholder relationships
* Ability to use electronic devices such as smart phone, tablet and computer and relevant applications
* Demonstrated behaviour management, conflict resolution, advocacy and negotiation skills

* A valid National Police Clearance
* WA Working with Children's
* Provide First Aid
* WA Driver's Licence

* Starting salary $86,950.50 per annum plus 12% superannuation
* Generous tax‐free salary packaging benefits, up to $15,900 per annum not taxed
