The Workforce Development Officer is a hands-on, impactful role supporting the attraction and retention of skilled workers across the local government sector. You will coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operations of the Careers at Council platform, ensuring high quality content that is engaging and responsive to user needs.
Working closely with internal teams, NSW Councils, State and Territory Local Government Associations (including Councils) and sector stakeholders, you will contribute to workforce initiatives, develop engaging digital content and help grow the reach and impact of workforce-related products and services available to NSW councils.

LGNSW advocates on behalf of its members and their communities on policy to decision makers at state and federal levels. We also provide a comprehensive range of services including workplace relations representation, management services, training, and legal support.
About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Workforce Development Consultant, the Workforce Development Officer role involves:
* Coordinating operational activities across content development, helpdesk, marketing, graphic design and web maintenance to support continuous improvement of the Careers at Council platform.
* Acting as the help desk contact for platform-related queries from internal and external users to provide expert advice, on product operations, marketing campaign, and customer service.
* Implementing the execution of the sales strategy through coordinated outreach, shared campaign planning, engagement tracking, and converting interest into subscriptions.
* Promoting the workforce development products/services and related events to councils through targeted marketing initiatives such as advertising campaigns, case studies, social media promotions, career market events and council-specific presentations.

About You
You are a motivated and organised professional who enjoys working across digital, marketing, and workforce development initiatives. You bring creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Essential Requirements
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience in digital platforms, marketing, or workforce development.
* Proven experience developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, including market analysis, customer engagement, and performance reporting.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to produce engaging written content.
* Skilled in data analysis and reporting, with proficiency in WordPress, SEO, and social media analytics tools.
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute effectively to team goals.
* Ability to travel as required.
