ABOUT MASTER BUILDERS WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Master Builders Western Australia (MBAWA) is a member-based organisation with a proud 126-year history of representing and supporting the building and construction industry across Western Australia. We work with businesses of all sizes and sectors – from residential and commercial builders to civil contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers and suppliers – to improve outcomes for both our members and the broader community.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist products and professional services to help construction businesses operate more effectively, alongside industry recognition through awards and events, and strong advocacy to government and key stakeholders.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Events Assistant role is for someone who genuinely loves events and wants to build a successful career in the industry.

Sitting in the Events team and working directly with MBAWA's Head of Membership, Partnership and Events, you will play an integral part in the delivery of MBAWA's high-profile Events and Awards calendar – a key part of the value we provide to our members.

You will be championed to assist in delivering a wide range of events, from intimate regional information sessions through to our premiere industry awards night, attended by over 900 people. This role offers the best of both worlds: the autonomy to take ownership of projects, while also having the opportunity to regularly collaborate with senior leaders, colleagues and external partners across the industry.

At MBAWA, we know the importance of having guidance and assistance when you first commence a new role, and so you will be closely mentored by the Head of Membership, Partnership and Events to build a deep understanding of the role and the end-to-end delivery of major events.

For the right person, this is a genuine pathway to career progression within the Events team and the broader organisation. You will also have exposure to other business units, including Marketing and Communications, with opportunities to contribute to event promotions and campaign activity.

This position is based in our West Perth office, with occasional travel across Western Australia required to support our regional and major events program as needed.

ABOUT YOU

* You're at the start of your Events career and are eager to learn, grow and build your professional skill set in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
* You are self-motivated, organised and proactive, and enjoy balancing detailed administration with creativity and hands-on delivery.
* You thrive on variety and want to be involved in all kinds of events, from industry briefings and luncheons to black-tie galas and awards nights.
