About the role
Australian Timber & Trusses is seeking a passionate Work Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in our Nerang, QLD location. As a full-time role, this position plays a vital part in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees across our operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on our safety culture and contribute to the ongoing success of our business. We are looking at starting a new WHS advisor in the New Year. Please make your application in anticipation of reviews and interviews in early January.
What you'll be doing
* Implementing and maintaining health and safety systems, policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
* Conducting risk assessments, developing safe work methods and providing guidance to managers and employees
* Investigating incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
* Providing health and safety training to employees and monitoring compliance
* Collaborating with managers to develop and implement health and safety initiatives
* Maintaining detailed records and reporting on key health and safety metrics
* Liaising with regulatory authorities and industry bodies as required
What we're looking for
* Minimum Certificate IV qualification required in Occupational Health & Safety
* Experience in a similar work health and safety advisory role, ideally within the manufacturing or construction industry
* Sound knowledge of work health and safety legislation, standards and best practices
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical and report writing skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently
* Australian work rights required for this position
