We are a team of 300+ water specialists working across offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle, Tamworth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fiji.
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. The role focuses on design engineering for water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations and conveyance pipelines. You will review design requirements, conduct site investigations, perform calculations and modelling, oversee drafting, and prepare reports and specifications. You will build strong client relationships and provide solutions and services to clients both on and off site. Responsibilities
 * Design engineering for water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations and conveyance pipelines.
 * Review design requirements, conduct site investigations, perform calculations and modelling.
 * Oversee drafting and prepare reports and specifications.
 * Build strong client relationships and provide solutions and service to clients on and off site.
 * Collaborate in a multidisciplinary, multi-office project team.
 * Travel as required by project needs.

Qualifications
 * Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering.
 * A minimum of 10 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design.
 * Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.
 * Knowledge of risk management and ability to identify project/design risks.
 * Experience managing small to medium engineering design projects.
 * Commitment to working safely and within the company's HSEQ systems.
 * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team.
 * Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences.
 * Ability to travel on occasions as the work requires.
