Position Information
Goulburn South Public School is a regional NSW school with seven mainstream and four support classes, and hosts Department of Education personnel on site with a total enrolment of a 152 students. The school serves a diverse community, with 14% of students from language backgrounds other than English and 18.5% identifying as Aboriginal. Staff are committed to high-quality teaching and student wellbeing. The school maintains strong partnerships with external agencies and has a supportive and active P&C.

This work is underpinned by evidence-informed practice, with a consistent focus on data to inform teaching and ensure appropriate curriculum provision for every student. Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach special education and/or demonstrated experience teaching students with autism, intellectual disability and complex trauma, with the ability and experience to implement high-quality, differentiated curriculum.
* Demonstrated ability to design, adapt and deliver high-quality personalised learning support plans for students with complex needs, using explicit teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes across all key learning areas.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build an inclusive, supportive culture and strong, authentic relationships with students, families, staff, external agencies and the wider community.
* Demonstrated ability to model and share a flexible repertoire of strong classroom management strategies that effectively support a diverse range of learners, including students with complex and challenging behaviours.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
