Graduate Engineer role at Gordon Brothers Industries involves engineering design, project management, and customer support in industrial refrigeration.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing engineering calculations and designs for refrigeration solutions
- Preparing estimates and tender submissions for projects
- Evaluating and modifying existing refrigeration plants to meet client needs
- Marketing GBI services including consulting, contract work, maintenance, and parts supply
- Project management: supplier negotiation, design coordination, procurement, resource coordination, and administration
- Managing project costs and ensuring successful project completion
- Preparing risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety systems
- Developing knowledge of Australian and International standards and ensuring compliance
- Drafting for small projects using AutoCAD, Solidworks, and hand sketches
- Conducting safety and engineering audits on refrigeration systems and compiling client reports
- Contributing to internal system development for engineering and project management
- Completing administrative duties related to engineering and project management
- Supervising and assisting with commissioning new plants
- Assisting with training delivery for internal and external technical personnel
- Supporting the service department with engineering and small contracting tasks
- Ensuring health and safety compliance and cooperating with management on safety legislation
- Performing duties as assigned by supervisors
About You
What you'll need:
- Tertiary qualification (minimum B.Eng.) in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering
- 5 years of industrial refrigeration experience post-graduation
- Ability to create, read, and interpret drawings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive approach and ability to work autonomously
- Willingness to learn and develop through interaction with fabricators, consultants, tradespeople, and professionals
- Current valid driver’s license
