**The Position & Organisation**
As the Industrial Relations Manager, you will ensure sound industrial relations practices are implemented across the business unit to facilitate a harmonious working environment and minimise lost time due to industrial disputation. You will build productive relations and clear lines of communication with the Project Team including sub-contractors, and ensure the delivery of services that meet the needs of the projects and clients. You will manage the IR function nationally, with an IR Advisor reporting to you and supporting you with the work. Together, you will support a wide range of employees across blue and white collar roles in geographically dispersed locations in Australia and New Zealand. This job will offer full autonomy and control over your role and the strategic direction of your work, and you will be compensated competitively.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement industrial relations solutions that achieve business unit and project objectives and comply with company policy and coordinate IR to ensure consistency is maintained in the handling of all IR issues;
- Negotiate and monitor business specific project Awards/Agreements/Enterprise Bargaining Agreements in accordance with the organisation's policies and mission;
- Provide advice in relation to the current industry IR environment and union expectations during tender processes and liaise with employer associations to remain informed about developments in the industry;
- Act as the organisation's representative in dealings with union officials on matters relating to enterprise agreements and other business decisions;
- Participate in the formulation and negotiation of enterprise based agreements which satisfy the needs of the business within set guidelines. Ensure executives participating in such negotiations are fully informed of industrial authority decisions, relevant legislation and regulations;
- Maintain open lines of communication with all senior union officials that represent employees engaged on projects.
**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in Employment Relations, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or any related business discipline;
- High level demonstrated work experience in highly industrialised and unionised environments with multiple Enterprise Agreements covering diverse work groups;
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of industrial related advice, guidance and support to senior management of a business;
- Experience in the Fair Work Commission, liaising directly with multiple unions and strong verbal and written communication, coupled with emotional intelligence and judgement to communicate with these liaison points.
- A long-term outlook and approach, whilst having the ability to work through current EBA's and time manage effectively for upcoming EBA's due for renewal or termination.
