About the Opportunity
Responsible for the preparation of allocated statutory and regulatory reporting activities, including technical accounting advice within area of responsibility
This includes support with the impact of reporting and regulatory changes, M&A activity, equity-accounted investments and related accounting considerations including fair value measurement, impairment, and consolidation. The role also provides support for the Oracle ERP implementation and other corporate initiatives.
Your key responsibilities will be:
* Research, interpret, and document accounting requirements for complex commercial transactions, new or change in accounting standards or regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical accounting advice and support to business areas and management.
* Assist in communicating accounting changes and updates to directors/stakeholders.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accounting implications are fully considered in line with the applicable accounting standards.
* Support the preparation of accounting position papers and Board/Committee papers.
* Contribute to major accounting projects, including implementation of new standards, policy reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
* Assist with the analysis and preparation of related workpapers and position papers for the implementation of IFRS18.
* Assist with the statutory reporting process by completing allocated activities. Focus on deliverables and process for non-integrated subsidiaries and assessment of equity accounted investments, goodwill impairment and investments in subsidiaries.
* Complete allocated Oracle system implementation activities, including accounting support during ERP implementation and upgrades, ensuring integrity of financial data and reconciliations.
* Participation in testing, validation, and reconciliation of data related to Oracle Financial modules.
What you'll need to be successful:
* Bachelor's degree in business or accounting; CA or CPA membership preferred.
* 5+ years post-graduate experience in accounting, or auditing roles.
* Strong knowledge of statutory reporting requirements, and accounting standards (AASB/IFRS).
* Experience in preparing accounting position papers and reports.
* Familiarity with impairment assessments, due diligence, and purchase price allocation model.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
* Highly detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy, data integrity, and compliance.
* Ability to leverage AI-driven tools and emerging technologies to enhance processes and accelerate automation.
* Experience in using SAP, ERP Oracle, or Backline
* Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.
