The Gig
As Duty Manager at Ace Hotel Sydney, you’ll be leading the daily charge across Front Office operations for 255 rooms—keeping things smooth, upbeat, and always guest-first. You’ll manage a team of front-facing legends, tackling curveballs and ensuring every guest experience is seamless from check-in to check-out.

Lead the daily operations of the Front Office, including reception, bell services, and guest experience

Supervise, coach, and support Guest Service Agents, Front Office Supervisors, and Bell Staff

Own guest escalations and turn challenges into five-star resolutions

Coordinate daily rosters and manage shift coverage in collaboration with the Director of Rooms

Take charge during emergency situations as Chief Warden, ensuring guest and team safety

Oversee hotel retail offerings, including stock levels, sales performance, and monthly audits

Deliver and organise training to ensure team members are well-versed in service standards and hotel procedures

Foster team culture, lead by example, and contribute to an inclusive and positive workplace

Maintain accurate records, daily reports, and staff compliance with WHS and liquor licensing

About You

You’re a natural leader with strong hotel know-how, cool under pressure, and always ready to support the team around you

You thrive in a people-first environment

Previous experience as a Front Office Supervisor or Duty Manager in a hotel environment

Proven ability to manage and mentor a team in a fast-paced setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you handle issues with confidence and care

Skilled at prioritising tasks and keeping operations running smoothly under pressure

Big-picture thinker with a strong eye for detail and process

Always guest-focused, with a positive attitude and a passion for creating a welcoming environment

Committed to building and maintaining a healthy team culture

Flexible to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
