About the role
JD Built Byron Bay Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Stonemason to join our dynamic team in Byron Bay, NSW. As a Stonemason, you will play a vital role in the construction and restoration of high-quality residential and commercial properties in the local area and into South East Queensland. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
What you'll be doing
1. Cutting, shaping, and finishing stone materials such as granite, marble, and limestone to precise specifications
2. Installing, repairing, and maintaining stone structures and features, including walls, fireplaces, and countertops
3. Collaborating with architects, designers, and other tradespeople to ensure the successful delivery of projects
4. Maintaining a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
5. Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on stone selection, design, and installation
6. Undertaking regular maintenance and repair work on existing stone structures
What we're looking for
1. Formal qualifications in Stonemasonry or a related trade, with a minimum of 3 years' practical experience
2. Demonstrated expertise in cutting, shaping, and installing a variety of natural stone materials
3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to precise measurements and specifications
4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome challenges on-site
5. A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
6. A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management
7. Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders
