Summary:
The Project Lead for the Aged Care Accreditation & Capacity Building Project at Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services Limited (EDAS) will spearhead initiatives aimed at achieving Aged Care Approved Provider accreditation. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of aged care services within the Aboriginal community, ensuring culturally safe and holistic healthcare delivery. The Project Lead will collaborate closely with stakeholders, manage project timelines, and drive capacity-building efforts to establish a dedicated Aged Care Business Unit in Mardi, New South Wales.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Aged Care Capacity Building Project.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with accreditation standards.
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Facilitate training and capacity-building workshops for staff and community members.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for stakeholders and funding bodies.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with project delivery.
- Promote culturally safe practices within the aged care services framework.
Qualifications Essential
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects in health, aged care, or community services.
- Strong knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, CHSP Program Manual, and accreditation processes.
- Experience in workforce capability development, operational planning, or quality system implementation.
- Proven ability to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in culturally safe and respectful ways.
- High-level stakeholder engagement, project management, and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Lived experience or identification as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Qualifications in Health, Community Services, Aged Care, or equivalent field.
- Experience working within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations or with Elders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of 9 Workplans: Establish Aged Care Business Unit, Aged Care Approved Provider status, community engagement, stakeholder management, operational infrastructure, quality management, workforce planning, service delivery system integration, and assessment of Elders.
- Drive the Aged Care Accreditation process, ensuring compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Promote EDAS values: Client-centred care, equity and inclusion, sustainability, collaboration, accountability.
- Build culturally safe engagement strategies with Elders, families, carers, and Aboriginal communities.
- Manage project planning, performance monitoring, and reporting against KPIs, milestones, and budgets.
