 
        
        Junior Sous Chef Role
The Star Sydney is a renowned entertainment hub in Australia, dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for our guests. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will be part of our Culinary Team in the Commissary Kitchen, working closely with experienced chefs to develop your skills and progress your career.
This role offers an extraordinary opportunity to take on new challenges and contribute to the success of our kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include:
 * Supervising a section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food production and maintaining efficiency
 * Training and mentoring junior staff members, coaching them to perform kitchen operations effectively
 * Handling incidents promptly, reporting accurately, and adhering to HACCP standards
 * Maintaining food costs within designated parameters
To succeed in this role, you will need:
 * Solid experience as a Demi Chef/Chef de Partie, with relevant tertiary qualifications such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
 * Proven ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently
 * Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 * Ability to commit to 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays
