Role Description
We are seeking a part-time Accountant to join our team on-site in Mount Waverley, VIC. The role is central to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the firm's financial operations, with a strong focus on trust account management in compliance with the Legal Profession Uniform Law and associated regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing and reconciling trust accounts in line with law firm accounting rules and compliance obligations.
* Using MYOB
to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
* Preparing and issuing invoices in a timely manner and monitoring receivables.
* Ensuring prompt settlement of accounts through effective client communication.
* Preparing financial statements and performing internal audits.
* Overseeing payroll, BAS, and other statutory lodgements.
* Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
* Providing strategic financial advice to support management decisions.
Qualifications
* Mandatory experience in law firm trust account management with strong knowledge of compliance requirements.
* Proficiency in MYOB for trust accounting and general accounting functions.
* Solid financial management skills including record-keeping, budgeting, and financial analysis.
* Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance with financial regulations.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
* CPA or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
