About the Company

Joining the team at BlockTexx offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key part of a pioneering, bold textile recovery business committed to making a genuine impact on our environment. BlockTexx is a Clean Technology Company that diverts unwanted textiles away from landfill and converts them into high-value raw materials for reuse. PolyTexx, our recycled polyester, and CellTexx, our recycled cellulose products, are recovered from textiles and clothing through a commercial-scale, patent-pending fibre separation process and transformed into valuable raw materials.

The state-of-the-art textile recovery facility is situated in the Logan region of Brisbane. It is designed to process up to 10,000 tonnes in the coming years and is currently expanding its production capacity.

About the Role

This newly created role will directly support the General Manager in implementing a series of capital and improvement projects designed to expand and enhance the performance of this recently developed manufacturing facility. This includes the introduction of a new extrusion line and making several upgrades to existing plant and equipment.

Your primary focus will be to undertake a diverse range of project engineering responsibilities and hands-on tasks, including involvement in design, scoping, planning, and scheduling. You will organise resources and coordinate the installation and commissioning of plant and equipment. Communicating with suppliers and contractors is also an essential part of the role.

Key Position Requirements

* Proven experience undertaking a Project Engineer role related to the development and implementation of capital and improvement projects for a manufacturing or similar operation.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake hands-on and practical engineering tasks across all project stages, from concept and design through to technical support and coordinating contractors during installation and commissioning..
* Highly effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to adapt to and respond effectively to changing project schedules and requirements.
* Demonstrated and current working knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards related to engineering and construction fields, including Workplace Health & Safety.
* Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders engaged in projects.
* Well-developed computer and administration skills, including the ability to compile and prepare project reports and documentation.
* Relevant qualifications in the Mechanical or Chemical Engineering field

Relevant experience in installing and commissioning plant and equipment for a start-up manufacturing business would be highly valued.

Eligibility

Candidates must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
