About the role

We have an opportunity for a Security Administrator to be part of our Network and Security Platform Services, Technology and Communication Services Command. The Security Administrator is responsible for operational responses to Network Security Threats, Events and Incidents, and providing and tracking problem tickets to improve network security services and posture. The role monitors, evaluates, and maintains systems and procedures to protect data systems and databases from unauthorised users, identifies potential threats, responds to security violations, and contributes to determining causes of security breaches.

This role supports the day-to-day operational stability of NSW Police Force ICT security systems by delivering technical administration, service management, and frontline operational support across key security and identity platforms. The role is responsible for certificate and user account lifecycle management, PKI operational support, SSO/WebSEAL configuration assistance, user account administration, secure access technologies (including SASE), and coordination of incidents and service requests across multiple ICT teams.

Key accountabilities:

* Certificate & PKI Administration
o Support the maintenance of NSWPF PKI infrastructure, trust stores, perform certificate renewals, updates, and replacements across enterprise systems.
o Assist in troubleshooting certificate-related authentication issues.
* Identity & Access Management (IAM)
o Manage user accounts, groups, profiles, and access privileges within Active Directory.
o Support Single Sign-On (SSO) services and assist with WebSEAL/junction configuration, health checks, and issue triage.
* Secure Access & Network Security Support
o Provide operational support for Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) technologies.
o Escalate issues to Level 3 support and vendors as required and assist in service diagnostics.
* Incident Triage & Cross-Team Collaboration
o Perform initial incident assessment, prioritisation, and assignment.
o Collaborate closely with Security, Infrastructure, IAM, and Networking teams to resolve complex issues. o Coordinate follow-ups and ensure timely progression of tasks.
* Auditing & Compliance
o Conduct routine audits of user access, certificates, system logs, and configuration compliance.
o Assist with evidence collection and reporting for internal and external audits as required.
* Ticket & Queue Management
o Monitor, manage, and prioritise service tickets in accordance with SLAs.
o Ensure accurate documentation of troubleshooting activities and resolutions.
* Operational Support & Documentation
o Contribute to operational runbooks, knowledge articles, and technical documentation.
o Follow established processes for incident, change, and problem management
