About the Role
As Purchasing Officer, you'll play a critical role in managing procurement and supply chain operations to ensure stock integrity, vendor relationships, and timely delivery.
This position is pivotal to the success of our business and our clients.
You'll forecast demand, negotiate terms, maintain accurate inventory systems, and produce key reports that drive efficiency and profitability.
You'll also contribute to process improvements and help implement best practices that enhance productivity and customer experience.
This is a hands-on role where your expertise will make a measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement of a wide range of products to ensure timely delivery at the lowest possible cost
Conduct demand analysis, strategic sourcing, and vendor negotiations
Forecast stock requirements and plan deliveries to optimize stock turns and payment terms
Maintain accurate inventory systems through physical counts and data reconciliation
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
Communicate pricing and promotional activity to internal teams
Implement best-practice stock control procedures to minimize waste and discrepancies
Monitor inventory levels, including excess and slow-moving stock
Ensure compliance with HACCP, Food Safe
Produce regular reports including stock turns, slow-moving stock, vendor fulfillment rates, and competitive pricing comparisons
Liaise with suppliers
About You
You're detail-oriented, commercially savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
You bring strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and a commitment to excellence.
Experience in procurement, warehouse operations, and foodservice or FMCG
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems such as Navision, Demand planning with Netstock)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
Knowledge of supply chain best practices and compliance requirements
