About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives align with business goals and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
* Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of road, footpath, and shared pathway projects, ensuring
works are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop project scopes, objectives, and detailed project plans, involving relevant stakeholders and
ensuring technical feasibility.
- Prepare and manage comprehensive project budgets, schedules, and milestones.
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, consultants, and external agencies to achieve project
deliverables.
Contract, Procurement & Compliance
* Participate in procurement and tendering processes in accordance with Council policy.
* Support the Manager of Projects Portfolio in preparing project contracts, including scopes of work, timelines, and payment schedules.
* Ensure compliance with technical specifications, regulatory requirements, NT Work Safe standards, and
* Funding agreement reporting obligations.
Quality, Safety & Risk Management
* Conduct site inspections to monitor construction quality, safety, and adherence to approved plans.
* Perform risk assessments, manage project risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Oversee project changes, including variations to scope, schedule, and budget.
Stakeholder & Team Management
* Provide leadership to support staff, setting clear expectations, driving accountability, and fostering a positive work-life balance and high-performance culture
* Manage support staff and subcontractors, including allocation of resources and overseeing day-to-day operation
* Maintain effective communication and relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and internal departments.
* Provide regular progress updates, technical advice, and required documentation to Manager of Projects Portfolio
Administration & Record Keeping
* Ensure all project documentation, correspondence, and reporting are completed accurately and recorded in Council's records management system.
* Collaborate across Council departments to support the successful planning and execution of projects
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Project Manager or similar role.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency in project management tools
* Relevant certifications
