We are seeking a Senior Assistant Company Secretary to join our Secretariat team. The role reports to the Company Secretary and focuses on enhancing governance, accountability, and the administration of board committees.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
* Uplift governance for the People & Change committee and other board committees.
* Manage day‐to‐day secretariat services for a portfolio of board committees, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal obligations.
* Advise on and enhance the governance and accountability framework in collaboration with the General Manager.
* Maintain and develop delegations framework and governance policies (Board Governance Policy, Fit and Proper Policy, Conflicts Management Policy, Gifts and Benefits Policy).
* Monitor regulatory and legislative developments, advising on implementation of required changes.
* Provide technical advice, briefings, and expertise on governance, accountability and emerging risks.
* Collaborate with committee chairs to promote effective and transparent operations and encourage timely implementation of decisions.
* Influence a robust governance culture through decision‐making processes and strategic input.
* Support the organisation in fulfilling governance and accountability obligations and drive continuous improvement in statutory and compliance management.
* Build and maintain trusted working relationships with senior management and directors and share best practice within the Company Secretary community.
Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualification.
* Experience as a company secretary, advising on governance and accountability matters.
* Proven understanding of governance principles and practices, including current trends, regulations, and legislation.
* Experience designing and delivering end‐to‐end secretariat services and supporting boards and senior executives.
