The opportunity
As a Social Connections Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting older adults and people with disabilities to engage in meaningful, enjoyable social support programs. Working closely with Team Leaders, you'll help plan and deliver activities, provide hands‐on support, assist with transport, and create a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment that promotes independence, wellbeing and social connection. This is a flexible, community‐focused role where every day makes a real difference.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting the delivery of high quality social support and activity programs, including hands‐on assistance with meals, personal care and participant engagement.
* Leading and facilitating group activities, ensuring they are inclusive, safe and enjoyable for all participants.
* Assisting with participant transport, including driving mini‐vans, bus jockey duties, and supporting safe entry/exit from vehicles.
* Monitoring participant needs, responding to emerging issues, and escalating concerns to Team Leaders when required.
* Completing administrative tasks such as attendance records, food safety documentation, incident reporting and programme‐related paperwork.
What You'll Need To Succeed
* Certificate III in Individual Support (or relevant experience) plus recent manual handling training.
* Demonstrated experience working with older people and/or people with disabilities.
* Ability to support participants respectfully, safely and in ways that promote independence and dignity.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly within a changing team environment.
* Current First Aid certificate and Victorian Driver's Licence, and willingness to drive mini‐vans.
