About the Position:
In this hands-on role, you will support the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of public infrastructure assets, including fencing, paving, boardwalks, playgrounds, park furniture and associated structures. You will operate and maintain various plant, vehicles, tools and equipment, assist with daily work planning, and help ensure service levels are met. The role involves conducting routine inspections, completing minor repairs, capturing asset data using mobile systems, and providing on-site support to contractors. A strong focus on safety, teamwork and continuous improvement is essential, with opportunities to contribute ideas, interact positively with customers, and actively participate in training and development programs while ensuring the safety of the team, contractors and the public.
About the Person:
You have experience in general labouring, construction support or outdoor maintenance and bring a practical, hands-on approach to your work. You can follow instructions, interpret basic drawings or plans, and apply your skills across a range of tasks while managing priorities to meet daily work demands. You are a reliable team player who works well with others, communicates clearly, and contributes positively to a productive work environment. Safety is a key focus for you, and you demonstrate a strong understanding of safe work practices relevant to trade and maintenance activities. You take pride in your work, remain professional and approachable when dealing with others, and show a positive, willing attitude toward learning, improving work practices and adapting to change.
To be successful you must have demonstrated experience in carpentry, fabrication, welding or an equivalent trade background, hold a current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence, and possess a valid WA White Card.
