This is a specialist psychological post that involves providing trauma-informed care to families with children in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The role demands high levels of professionalism, analytical skills, and effective communication.
The ideal candidate will have doctoral-level training in clinical psychology or Counselling psychology, registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, and experience in specialist psychological assessments and treatments. Key responsibilities include assessment, formulation, delivery of psychologically informed care, developing treatment plans, implementing interventions, evaluating progress, and reporting outcomes.
Additional requirements include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to contain distress, and willingness to work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies.
Key areas of focus include psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, and therapeutic models. A strong understanding of bereavement support and the ability to work effectively with staff are essential.

As an experienced clinical psychologist or systemic psychotherapist, you will be responsible for delivering expert psychological support to patients and their families in the PICU setting.
