Main Responsibilities
* Ecological Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments prior to vegetation removal and fauna habitat clearance to ensure the least possible impact on local ecosystems.
* Threatened Species Identification: Identify and document threatened plants and habitats, priority weeds, and conduct targeted flora and fauna surveys to maintain biodiversity.
* Fauna Relocation: Utilize GPS-enabled tablets to accurately relocate fauna displaced by clearing activities, minimizing disruption to native species.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Degree in Ecology or Related Field: A bachelor's degree in ecology or a related field such as biology, environmental science, or conservation biology.
* Knowledge of Local Ecosystems: In-depth understanding of local flora and fauna, including threatened species and ecosystems.
* GIS and Surveying Skills: Proficiency in using GPS-enabled tablets and software for conducting surveys and mapping ecosystems.
