**About the branch**
Executive Branch leads the development of ACIC policy and strategy while delivering high-quality stakeholder engagement, governance, assurance, reporting and communication services.
The branch has a key role shaping policy and strategy for the agency. It serves as an interface between the ACIC's intelligence collection capabilities and the development of whole-of-government strategies, policies and initiatives. It has a high level of engagement with the agency's external stakeholders as well as providing ministerial and board liaison and support, including secretariat support for external and internal governance committees.
**About the role**
The Graphic Design Specialist in the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) Design Studio works closely with team members to deliver a range of graphic design and photography services for both the ACIC and the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC).
The Graphic Design Specialist works in a small team responsible for creating and developing design concepts, providing branding advice, creating and maintaining templates, providing photography and multimedia services, and managing merchandise, print and typesetting procurement. The role is key to ensuring correct and consistent brand implementation across all mediums, both online and offline, for both agencies. The position also plays a role in mentoring and reviewing the work of junior designers to ensure high quality.
- Uses their highly creative conceptual and design skills to deliver high-quality graphic design support to key business projects, including flagship publications, infographics, newsletters, corporate documents and intelligence products.
- Maintains and applies a comprehensive understanding of the latest design and multimedia trends and their role in the Australian Public Service environment, including accessibility requirements.
- Has strong organisational skills including the ability to manage projects with overlapping deadlines, manage own work with mínimal supervision, and provide support to the wider design team.
- Has outstanding communication and client liaison skills, including the ability to conduct briefings, advise on design implications, and negotiate with clients.
- Will represent the Strategic Communication Section and wider Executive Branch professionally at meetings and forums with internal and external stakeholders, including the executive.
**Desirable qualifications/ experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in graphic design or a related field and/or experience with the Apple Mac platform, working with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Photography experience.
