Triple Zero Victoria provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies, delivering Victoria's 24‑hour emergency call‑taking and dispatch for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES. About the Role
The Network Engineer is a key participant of the Emergency Communications Information Services (ECIS) Department, designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting our evolving network infrastructure. You will be part of a technical support team responsible for scalable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
* Configure and install routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices.
* Perform network maintenance and system upgrades.
* Monitor performance, ensure system availability and reliability, and manage resource utilisation.
* Maintain highly available environments and remediate security risks.
* Manage patching and updates for firewalls and network equipment through automation and rules.
* Participate in change delivery within the TZV IT infrastructure and network environments.
* Create network documentation to support change and knowledge transfer.
* Share knowledge to enhance the technical skills of others.
Requirements
* TIL V3 Certification.
* Substantial experience in a large organisation (500+ employees) supporting 24/7 network infrastructure.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with capacity to assess technical issues and propose improvements.
* Extensive experience with:
* CISCO CCNP Routing/Switching
* CISCO Nexus Data Centre Architecture
* CISCO ASA 5000 service
* CISCO Nexus 7K, 5K
* Virtual private networks, ACLs, IPSEC
* Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
* Cisco Nexus 7K, 6500, 4500 series core and access switching.
* Security protocols, policies and processes; installation and maintenance of Cisco ASA5500 and IOS firewalls.
