Northfleet Pty Ltd is one of Western Australia's leading companies in the crane, transport, bus, and vehicle hire industry. With multiple Operations throughout Perth metro, Southwest, Pilbara, and Regional WA, we provide comprehensive fleet solutions to our valued clients. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced local Operations Manager for our Karratha operations.

About the Role

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the overall day-to-day operations of the Karratha Depot. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for the provision and co-ordination of Wet and Dry hire services, assist in the control of scheduled vehicle servicing (trucks, cars, buses etc.) and preventative and breakdown maintenance, vehicle detailing, depot maintenance, implementation of OHSE guidelines, and ensuring a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage efficient costs in the running of the depot in respect of revenue, profitability and budget
* Development of financial and labour budgets and forecasts
* Implement and enforce company policy and procedure, with particular focus on OHSE
* Maintain and develop effective relationships with all stakeholders (internal and external)
* Coordination of depot maintenance including depot grounds, vehicles and hardware, ensuring compliance to lease, OH&S and legislative requirements
* Work with the Workshop Supervisor to coordinate workshop tasks for Heavy and Light Vehicle Mechanics – Defects, Preventative maintenance and periodic servicing
* Effective management of drivers, workshop and detailing staff and ensure correct level of re-sources available to meet business requirements
* Inductions and ongoing performance management of reporting staff members
* Manage and maintain all aspects of driver rosters
* Complete Passenger Transfers as required
* Work with Fleet Manager on the On Hire and Off Hire of vehicles
* Oversee the preventative maintenance and upkeep of all assets, including but not limited to buses, trucks, cars, trailers and forklifts
* Ensure a positive customer experience in the provision of counter sales and customer assistance
* Support and ensure compliance with regional purchasing and inventory strategies
* Stock Control including maintaining levels within budget, guidelines and reconciling stock takes
* Monitor and approve timesheets and supplier invoices

* Ensure that the working environment under your control presents minimal risk to the environment
* Follow approved Accident and Incident reporting process, complete requisite system or data inputs and provide initial report
* Carry out accident investigation, and take statements and collect supporting evidence
* Ensure that all relevant information on Occupational Health & Safety matters is provided to other employees on site by way of regular minuted toolbox meetings
* Involve other employees in Occupational Health & Safety matters to reduce or eliminate hazards

About You:

* Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
* Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, attract and retain staff
* Well-developed time management skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Strength in working as a team player and work towards team goals and align with a company values
* Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft office suite software
* Previous demonstrated supervisory experience in challenging and fast paced environments
* HR Licence & F Class
* Mechanical Aptitude
