Job Title: Java Application Support Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Java-based Application Support Engineer to join our high-performing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting complex, cloud-hosted banking applications and collaborating closely with engineering, product, and incident response teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and resolve complex production issues in Java-based systems
* Act as a key liaison between engineering and 24/7 support/incident teams
* Investigate root causes, raise bugs with dev teams, and suggest fixes
* Coordinate ticket handling within agreed SLAs and improve documentation
* Contribute to tooling and process improvements for issue triaging
* Participate in occasional on-call rotations and share learnings across the team
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need strong Java debugging and application support experience. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), containers, microservices & APIs is also essential. Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, event streaming, and CI/CD tooling is desirable. Familiarity with Site Reliability practices and performance monitoring tools is also beneficial.
