About The Role
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provides specialist mental health care to children and young people up to 18 years of age who are experiencing severe and complex mental health challenges, or who are at significant risk of developing them. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence‐based assessment, counselling and case management while partnering closely with families, carers, and community agencies to support recovery and wellbeing.
You will contribute to early intervention, prevention and mental health promotion initiatives in Mount Isa, ensuring care is safe, high‐quality, culturally responsive and aligned with contemporary best practice.
* Provide intake, comprehensive mental health assessment, counselling and case management for children and young people with complex needs.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and alongside government and non‐government partners to deliver coordinated, recovery‐focused care.
* Participate in early intervention, prevention and mental health promotion activities for children and youth at high risk.
Working with us
* Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.
* Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.
* Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.

Requirements
* Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
* Mandatory requirements: a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
* C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
* Pre‐employment screening including Criminal History checks.
* VPD risk role may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
* Probation may apply.
