 
        
        Family Support Specialist
The role of the Family Support Specialist involves providing regular in-home support and assistance to carer families, as well as evening support after school to help families. This position requires a thorough understanding of the child, supporting carers and case workers to improve safety and connectedness with local community services.
Key responsibilities include assessing the needs of families and reporting to the service Case Manager. The Family Support Specialist works closely with other agencies and the community to provide high-quality support services based on a comprehensive understanding of the child's situation.
This is a full-time fixed-term opportunity working 38 hours per week in Karratha, WA. We are looking for an individual who has a knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
Our ideal candidate will have an appropriate qualification and/or experience in human services or a related discipline, and be able to demonstrate ability in working as part of a team. They should also have knowledge of vulnerable children, young people, and families, including an understanding of trauma, attachment, and child development.
