About the role
We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our team in the Mary Coram Unit, which is a combined 48-bed unit that manages and cares for Rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation and Management, and Palliative Care patients. The unit also manages acute medical, surgical and orthopaedic patients.
The Mary Coram Unit is recognised as the preferred specialist provider for inpatient Rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation and Management in the Goulburn Valley and Hume Regions. We care for patients who have experienced:
3. Stroke and neurological diagnoses
4. Orthopaedic fracture or replacement
5. Deconditioning post acute illness, surgery or trauma
6. Complex and multiple medical conditions related to ageing, including falls, reduced mobility, acute / early-onset cognitive impairment and chronic pain
We also provide inpatient Palliative Care, and care for patients who have a life-limiting or terminal illness. Our aim is to support the patient to live as comfortably as possible by managing symptoms; providing emotional, psychological and cultural care; supporting the family; referring to services to support discharge; and providing end of life care.
Our Registered Nurses are responsible for providing and coordinating all aspects of high-quality care to our patients. We work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, which includes Consultants, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians, Social Workers, Allied Health Assistants, and a Discharge Planner. The team is based in the unit, and therapy is provided in the indoor / outdoor gymnasium, treatment rooms and shared patient areas located within the unit. Our focus is to work with the patient and family to implement patient-centred and goal-oriented therapy that improves function, maximises independence and optimises quality of life.

7. Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
8. Ability to provide patient-centred and high-quality care
9. Ability to implement strategies to reduce the risk of incidents and harm
10. Ability to work as a member of the multidisciplinary team
