Associate / Senior Associate – Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT)
Leading International Law Firm | Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane | Hybrid Role
A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join its high-performing Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) team in Sydney. This is a rare opportunity to work on Australia's most significant TMT transactions and advise clients across technology, industrials, healthcare, media, banking and infrastructure sectors.
Your Role As part of the TMT team, you will be based in Sydney and work collaboratively across national offices on a variety of matters, including:
* Telecommunications & Data Centres – major commercial projects, regulatory, infrastructure and M&A transactions
* Data & AI – governance, compliance, commercialisation and regulatory advice, as well as investments and acquisitions of AI companies
* Cyber – incident response, regulatory engagement, cyber simulations and preparedness activities
* Outsourcing & Corporate – technology and business process outsourcing, vendor management, business separations and systems integrations
* Digital Transformation & Startups – advisory and transaction work for innovation and growth-stage companies
* Media – regulatory matters and broadcasting rights deals
You will be given responsibility early, supported by senior mentors, and encouraged to develop your expertise in areas you are passionate about.
About You
* Experience in a TMT team at a top-tier or leading firm (not primarily IP-focused)
* Strong knowledge or interest in Australian privacy, data protection and cyber matters
* Experience drafting and negotiating IT/telecommunications contracts
* Ability to manage smaller matters and contribute to larger, complex transactions
* Ambition to learn, grow, network, and mentor others
