About the Role
The role of Ward Clerk – Acute Ward and Urgent Care Centre provides the first point of contact at the ward and UCC for patients and visitors.
* The Ward Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance of patient records and data, supporting the coordination of patient flow and administrative processes across the health service.
The position involves liaising with all nursing, medical and ancillary staff, immediate supervisors, and other management roles as required.
The ability to be flexible and have enthusiasm for variety in all aspects of the role is essential.
Please note: It is a requirement of this position to work across a variety of rostered weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
* Customer Service: Providing a professional, compassionate first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors.
* Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Reliability and Organisation: Managing competing priorities and maintaining accuracy in a busy clinical environment.
* Certificate III or IV in Business Administration: Sound knowledge of administrative processes and medical terminology.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in using patient administration systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Teamwork and Initiative: Demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Confidentiality and Privacy: Adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
