The Opportunity
Ramsay is seeking a dynamic and experienced finance leader to drive performance across our North Shore Network of Hospitals – our flagship North Shore Private Hospital along with Hunters Hill, and Castlecrag Private Hospitals. Reporting directly to the Network CEO, you will be a pivotal member of the Executive team, shaping the strategic direction of three of our Sydney sites alongside the Executive Team. With the support of a dedicated on-site finance team, and our central Finance Service Centre, you'll ensure financial accuracy, integrity, and sustainability across the network. Beyond finance, you'll also oversee key non-clinical support services, broadening your leadership impact. Key Accountabilities (Responsibilities)
* Partner with the Executive team to guide key investment, resourcing and service delivery decisions that optimise hospital performance.
* Develop, implement, and oversee annual budgets and business plans.
* Lead and manage non-clinical department managers across Patient Administration, Consulting Suites (including Strata Management), Private Practice, Finance, Purchasing, and Health Information Services.
* Oversee working capital management, ensuring effective cashflow, liquidity and balance sheet performance, including robust assessment and prioritisation of capital expenditures to support strategic growth.
* Partner with corporate finance services to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
* Lead financial oversight of contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, while driving value through effective review, negotiation, and ongoing performance management.
* Work closely with clinical teams to educate and support managers in understanding, tracking, and achieving KPIs.
About You / Your Skills And Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, advanced financial management expertise, and exceptional leadership capabilities. You should also have a proven track record of building and maintaining positive, professional relationships with both on-site and remote teams.
* Professional qualifications in accountancy/finance management, with a preference for CPA or CA.
* Proven ability to analyse financial and operational data to generate value-creating insights.
* Proven experience in leading, managing and developing diverse complex teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and high performance.
* Experience in working collaboratively with the business to enhance performance.
* Demonstrated attention to detail, strong decision-making capabilities, and clear, concise communication skills.
* Extensive experience with large accounting software packages and financial reporting models, including advanced budget preparation.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and support key non-financial stakeholders.
Desirable But Not Essential
* Experience in financial management within the healthcare sector.
* Skilled in financial legislation, compliance, and risk management frameworks pertinent to healthcare environments.
About The Hospitals
North Shore Private Hospital, NSP, located on Sydney's lower North Shore, is a 336-bed facility specialising in surgical, medical, and maternity care with 20 operating theatres, 3 procedure rooms and 3 cardiac catheter labs. Renowned for specialties like orthopaedics, obstetrics, neurosurgery, and cardiothoracic and cardiac services.
Hunters Hill Private Hospital, a 40-bed facility renowned for surgical (4 operating theatres) and rehabilitation services, approximately 10 kilometres northwest of Sydney's centre.
Castlecrag Private Hospital, a 38-bed facility renowned for surgical (3 operating theatres) and medical services. The Direct to Hospital GP Medical Admissions program allows patients to be admitted directly with a single call from the GP surgery.
