About the role:
Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be tasked with leading transport operations supplying high-demand bulk materials across Central Victoria. With a large fleet of trucks and mobile equipment, and multiple active sites, the Transport Manager is central to ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient transport and delivery operations. You will oversee scheduling, fleet maintenance, compliance, driver management, and subcontractor coordination—while maintaining strong communication with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead daily transport operations, including vehicle scheduling, truck allocation, and routing.
* Manage a fleet of heavy vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with NHVR, CoR, fatigue, and mass management regulations.
* Oversee a small team of drivers and weighbridge staff—manage rosters, performance, and training.
* Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders (including subcontractors and suppliers).
* Monitor transport performance and implement cost-saving initiatives (fuel, tyres, maintenance, etc.).
* Coordinate fleet maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime.
* Operate the weighbridge when required and support compliance reporting and audits.
About you:
To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
* 3+ years' experience in transport, fleet, or logistics management.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Solid understanding of transport legislation and safety requirements.
* Budgeting and scheduling experience.
* HC licence and experience with weighbridge systems are highly desirable.
