Seeking a highly intelligent, well-connected and experienced corporate communications professional to join our team in Sydney.
This role is a parental leave fixed term contract for 12-14 months.
As Corporate Communications Manager, your role will be internal and external. You will develop and drive proactive communications programs that tell the story of Amazon's growing impact in Australia, demonstrate that Amazon is a great place to work and highlight our growing Operations network, and manage a range of complex issues critical to reputation.
The position is a 12-14 month Fixed Term Contract, based in Sydney.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with PR agencies and manage external communications vendors
- Collaborate with social media teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels
- Work with partners across the business and global comms teams to source communications and original content focused on employee experiences and Amazon's culture.
- Deliver strategic communications counsel to internal leaders on short and long-term challenges and opportunities
- Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and often unexpected communications challenges
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of activity and messaging
- Develop and manage integrated public relations programs that drive awareness of Amazon's positive impact in Australia
- Build strong relationships with retail, technology, business, career and vertical trade media and other external stakeholders to support corporate reputation goals.
- Research and integrate industry news, trends and compelling angles into PR programs
- Write, develop and manage approvals for internal comms, news releases, media advisories, fact sheets and related media materials for Amazon Australia.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence cross functionally
- Proven experience working to develop internal communications strategies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working across sustainability initiatives
- Exposure to both agency and in house PR environments
