Base salary of $85,235 to $116,780 per annum

The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking a motivated, professional and suitably qualified person to join our team as an HV / LV Electrician within the Indian Ocean Territories Power Service (IOTPS) based on Christmas Island.
Key Responsibilities
To construct, maintain, inspect and repair underground high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical distribution networks as directed by the Electrical Supervisor,
Maintain, service and repair power station generation and auxiliary equipment,
Fault find, read and understand schematic and single line drawings,
Maintain maintenance and inspection records in paper and computerised formats,
Maintain a safe working environment at all times, and
Be listed as a nominee on IOTPS's in-house installing work licence and perform the duties of a nominee,
Obtain designation as an Inspector.
Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience performing a range of electrical work applicable to the position, and demonstrated experience in completing written records of maintenance, testing and inspection. They will also have demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety regulations, codes and specifications, specific to Electricity Supply Networks as well as experience in the application of safe work behaviours.
Applicants with demonstrated experience working on an electricity supply network or high voltage installation; and experience living and working in a remote cross-cultural setting will be well regarded.
Qualifications and Skillsets – Advantageous
HV switching
LV rescue and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Working at heights
Forklift Licence
Cert III in ESI – Distribution Underground, Cert III in ESI – Distribution Overhead or relevant HV cable jointing units.
Other Requirements
To be considered, applicants must hold a WA Unrestricted Electrical Worker's Licence at time of commencement, however applicants with Interstate or New Zealand Electrical Licences which are eligible for mutual recognition in WA are welcome to apply.
Applicants must have unrestricted work rights through Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residence status or New Zealand Citizenship (with appropriate Visa Subclass 444), satisfy a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, hold a current 'C' class drivers licence transferrable to the Indian Ocean Territories and be subject to a health assessment.
