What you will do:
Mack and Volvo Trucks Australia are expanding their offer, leading to a high number of new components to source locally. As an Associate Project Buyer, you will support a small Purchasing team and act as the purchasing interface towards projects, operations, and suppliers throughout the project phase and across the product life cycle. You will ensure QDCFTSR targets are achieved and sustained (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, Risk Management).
You will select suppliers aligned with customer needs, manage orders and contracts, lead performance reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
You will also identify and propose innovative solutions to improve parts availability and customer value, while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Purchasing Australia is a small, diverse, and dynamic team working cross‐functionally with the local engineering, operations, and sales team to deliver highly customized transport solutions for the Australian market, while leveraging the global organization and strategic lines for the best outcome. Working with a local and global supplier base, we deliver high‐quality components to the local assembly factory and aftermarket.
In this role, you will bring:
Essential
* Engineering or business degree, with a purchasing specialization preferred
* Proven experience in purchasing and supplier management
* Fluency in English
* Strong collaboration and communication skills
Nice to have
* Knowledge of the automotive industry
* Business acumen and strong negotiation skills
* Experience in cost management, quality management, and project management
* Understanding of manufacturing, supply chains, and process and data management
