Our client is currently seeking an
Automation Engineer
to join a major digital transformation initiative to replace a legacy payroll and human resource platform and will deliver a modern, integrated, and people-centred human capital management solution. In this role you will identify, design and deliver intelligent automation solutions to eliminate manual, repetitive, and inefficient processes across this program.
The role will focus on end-to-end process automation using tools such as UiPath, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Python scripting, APIs, and low-code/no-code platforms. As the Automation Engineer you will collaborate with business SMEs, integration teams, SAP consultants, and operational stakeholders to streamline tasks across HR, Payroll, ICT, and Data functions improving accuracy, compliance, and speed.
What You Will Be Responsible For
* Identify, document, and prioritise manual, repetitive, or high-risk business processes suitable for automation
* Design and implement end-to-end automation solutions using tools such as UiPath, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Python scripting, or custom API integrations
* Collaborate with business units, data teams, and technical leads to gather requirements and map current-state processes
* Develop reusable automation components, libraries, and workflows with version control and logging
* Build and maintain automation dashboards or logs to monitor process success, failures, and performance metrics
* Automate document generation, data reconciliation, system notifications, and approval workflows across SAP and non-SAP systems
* Contribute to operational efficiency by automating integration handoffs between systems (e.g. between TSS replicas, SAP SF, ECP, DataHub, or Purview)
* Support testing and validation of automations in collaboration with QA, business owners, and functional SMEs
* Continuously identify new automation opportunities and propose improvements in how the program delivers operational activities
What you'll bring to the role:
* Demonstrated experience delivering process automation using platforms such as UiPath, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, or equivalent tools
* Strong understanding of end-to-end business process mapping and optimisation across HR, Payroll, ICT, and Data domains
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell, JavaScript) for task automation and system integration
* Ability to build, test, deploy, and maintain reliable and reusable automation components
* Familiarity with API integration, webhooks, REST services, and data exchange formats (e.g. JSON, XML, CSV)
* Understanding of Queensland Government information security and data handling policies (e.g. IS18, IPOLA, IRAP)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify automation opportunities from manual workflows
* Experience automating document generation, user provisioning, system notifications, data entry, or reconciliation processes
* Exposure to enterprise systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, SAP ECP, Azure DataHub, or legacy SQL environments
