APS4 Service Desk Officer

Duration: 6 months with potential 6-month extension
Location: Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin
Hourly rate: $54 - $58
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain baseline security clearance

Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS4 Service Desk Officer to support the implementation and ongoing operation of a Client Management System (CMS).

This role involves working closely with internal teams, external providers, and clients to resolve system and administrative queries.

Candidates must be located near a major office location and able to attend mandatory in-office days.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to queries from external providers and clients relating to access, technical, and administrative issues
• Manage overflow tasks and general administration
• Update client consent forms
• Investigate and assist with escalated system tickets, escalating further where required
• Identify opportunities for business improvements and system enhancements
• Create and manage worker profiles within the system
• Grant system access to staff and contractors
• Monitor shared inboxes, prioritise requests, and respond in a timely manner
• Maintain and update records within the CMS
• Action system tickets or elevate as appropriate

Key Skills

• Demonstrated experience in an ICT Service Desk workplace
• Practical knowledge of troubleshooting client management systems
• Experience with Salesforce (preferred/essential)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively
