**The role**
This newly created role which sits on our Senior Leader Group, and is positioned to drive continuous improvement, enhancing the performance for our Quarry, Concrete and Masonry Business.
Success in the role will require in-depth technical knowledge in the **quarrying or mining industry**. Your focus will be to increase operational performance and efficiencies within our operations through your strong capability and background in data analytics and continuous improvement to drive optimisation initiatives across the national portfolio of operations.
The National Quarry Operations Specialist reports directly to the **Chief Operating Officer of CAM (Concrete, Aggregates & Masonry)**.
The role can be based in **Brisbane or Sydney** with regular travel to our operational sites in SA, VIC, NSW, QLD and NT as required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Review the general and technical components of the quarry sites to understand the areas of inefficiency.
- Identify opportunities for improvement for cost reduction, material processing optimisation, HEM equipment management optimisation and waste reduction as examples.
- Through evaluation, prioritise potential improvements by seeking relevant approvals, clearly defining improvement objectives, scope and success criteria.
- Use strong data and analytical abilities to understand and interpret optimisation throughout the Concrete, Aggregates and Masonry business.
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, conduct detailed analysis of the current state and using data-driven insights.
- In collaboration with General and Quarry Management review and develop initiatives and supporting collateral to drive change, and or investment to drive performance improvement.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related field or Trade background
- Project Management (PMP) certification preferred
**Requirements**:
- Quarrying or mining industry experience with a sound understanding of quarry management, process improvement and optimisation.
- Operational, commercial, and continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Significant project and program experience at all plant and equipment life cycle stages.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, to delivering outcomes
- Advanced in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI or similar
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build teams and influence change
