We are seeking a skilled Senior Payroll Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of efficient and effective payroll services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in end-to-end payroll processing, with experience in leading high-volume customer service environments. They will be responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of payroll-related activities, including reconciliations, interpreting awards and contracts, and resolving complex queries.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Payroll Leadership: Support leading the team responsible for processing the fortnightly pay run, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
2. Pay Run Processing: Take responsibility for and lead the fortnightly pay run processing in Ascender Pay.
3. Performance Metrics: Utilize performance metrics to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective payroll services.
4. Technical Expertise: Serve as a point of escalation and provide technical expertise to resolve complex payroll matters.
5. Process Improvement: Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to optimize payroll processes, systems, and service delivery, leveraging innovative technologies and practices.
6. Team Development: Assist the Manager of Payroll Processing in the development of the team in upskilling on payroll knowledge, critical thinking, and process improvement.
7. Risk Management: Assist with managing risk and workplace health and safety within the work area and ensure a safe working environment and compliance with policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing and payroll administration.
* Experience in a high-volume customer service environment.
* Sound knowledge of terminations and redundancies procedures.
* Strong understanding of taxation laws and their application to payroll.
* Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation and enterprise agreements.
* Ability to apply policies and procedures.
