About the opportunity As our Retail Customer Service Officer, you’ll play an important part in helping Australians service their own businesses, keeping millions of people connected and building community resilience. Every year around one million customers walk into one of our Australia Post Offices. It’s our retail teams who make sure that every experience they have is a great one. And while they do, they’re supported by a welcoming team, take part in ongoing training, and are guided on career development opportunities.
Role Details

Pay rate: $28.58 per hour on commencement, increasing to $30.55 per hour after approximately 3 months, plus 12% Superannuation
* Training: Extensive, fully paid and highly supportive training on commencement, Monday to Friday, 12 weeks part time or 6 weeks full time (structure determined by the Hiring Manager)
* Roster 4 hours / day, Monday – Friday, rotating shifts between 8.45 am – 5.06 pm
* Relief locations, as this is a relief role, shifts will be rostered at these locations, Robina, Burleigh, Coolangatta, Gold Coast Business Hub, Helensvale, Nerang, Pacific Fair, Pimpama, Q Super, Runaway Bay, Southport and Surfers Paradise.
* Travel requirements You must be fully available and able to travel to all listed locations for shifts. Please consider travel times and transport arrangements carefully before applying.

You'll be
* Performing customer sales and service transactions with customers.
* Managing high value transactions accurately (handling and processing cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS).
* Conducting and processing a number of identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews.
* Promoting our products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and other promotional activities.
* Assisting customers with mail lodgements and associate costs.
* Building rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs.
* Assisting with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance.
About you
* You’re friendly, enthusiastic and reliable and you love working in a team environment.
* You’re ready to put the customer at the centre of everything you do to help make a difference in the community.
* Have experience in customer service and/or cash handling.
* Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift.
