Geotechnical Engineer - Infrastructure Projects
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team. This role will suit an engineer who is confident in planning and delivering geotechnical investigations and developing geotechnical designs, particularly in relation to slope instability, landslip remediation, and soft or complex ground conditions.
* This is a hybrid full-time role that can be based in either Coolangatta, QLD or Coffs Harbour, NSW.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing and reporting geotechnical site investigations, including providing support and mentorship to our Cadet Engineers. Responsibilities also include preparation of Geotechnical Factual Reports (GFRs), slope stability analysis, and the design of a range of slope reinforcement and remediation options.
Key Tasks:
1. Geotechnical Investigations: Plan, scope, supervise, and manage geotechnical site investigations.
2. GFR Preparation: Prepare GFRs and assist in the development of Geotechnical Interpretative Reports (GIRs).
3. Slope Remediation: Assess slope instability and design concept to detailed remediation options (e.g., soil nails, high tensile steel mesh systems, gravity retaining structures, embankment stabilisation).
4. Geotechnical Modelling: Develop geotechnical models, parameters, and technical risk assessments.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with civil designers, project managers, clients, and local councils.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent).
* 3 – 5 years' experience in geotechnical investigation and design.
* Demonstrated capability in slope engineering and remediation design.
* Strong reporting skills and experience preparing GFRs and contributing to GIRs.
* Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards (AS****, AS****, AS****, AS****, etc.).
* Familiarity with TfNSW geotechnical framework.
* Experience with geotechnical software such as Geo5, PLAXIS, Rocscience.
* A proactive approach to safety, quality, and project delivery.
* Current driver's licence and willingness to undertake fieldwork.
