**Seaworthiness Regulatory Framework Developer**
This is a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive seaworthiness regulatory framework for our client. The framework will support Australia's sovereign interests and represent a contemporary approach to seaworthiness regulation.
The incumbent will play a key part in transitioning talented engineers with a strong foundation in engineering principles into regulatory framework development and management. Responsibilities include drafting policies, regulations, procedures, guidance materials, and assisting the regulated community with compliance submissions, permits, and approvals.
Key responsibilities are:
* Drafting policies, regulations, and procedures for seaworthiness.
* Developing guidance materials and acceptable means of compliance.
* Assisting the regulated community with compliance submissions, permits, and approvals.
* Demonstrating strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving.
* Coordinating with senior engineers to ensure alignment with standards and project goals.
* Collaborating with teams to develop engineering solutions.
* Reviewing documentation for regulatory compliance.
* Participating in stakeholder meetings and providing engineering insights.
* Supporting the implementation of engineering policies and procedures.
* Contributing to technical reports and documentation.
* Troubleshooting technical issues and recommending corrective actions.
Ideal candidate profile includes:
* Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or related field, with relevant experience.
* 3+ years in maritime engineering or regulatory field.
* Australian Government Security clearance upon commencement.
* Knowledge of work health, safety, and environmental compliance.
* Familiarity with maritime conventions, laws, or Defence regulations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
