The Maintenance department is looking to recruit a maintenance (new work) plumber.

The role will undertake planned maintenance and alterations and installations of essential mechanical systems across the diverse building services of the Trust estate.

You will need to have the ability to analyse faults, undertake rectifications and be able to advice on system improvements to ensure continuity and improvement of service.

We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual who has the ability to prioritise workloads, identify potential improvement within their discipline and be proactive in providing a high level of service to staff, patients and site visitors.

Main duties of the job

As a new works plumber within the Estates department, you will be responsible for carrying out essential alterations and installations mechanical services within the trusts building portfolio.

Typical duties within your role will include, general plumbing maintenance tasks, PPMs, installations and to response to active problems.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an Estates team that is working closely to ensure statutory compliance and building fabric standards are maintained across all the Trusts sites.

Person specification

Qualifications

* A National Qualification Framework NQF achievement to level 3 or above e.g.City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
* A qualification in Building services would be an advantage

Experience

* Experience in building services maintenance with a demonstrable track record of competence
* Previous experience in a large acute hospital

Knowledge

* Basic electrical knowledge
* Knowledge and appreciation of Building Maintenance Issues
* Knowledge of NHS and working in clinical Areas
* Knowledge of Estates maintenance

Skills

* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Able to plan own work load be flexible and prioritise tasks
* Ability to develop and work effectively in a team
* Self-Motivator
* Ability to work under pressure
