Role
Under minimal supervision, acts as a lead in sorting, positioning, staging and loading waste and recyclable materials for safe transport and efficient removal from the site.
Shift will be Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:30PM.
Essential Responsibilities
* Operates heavy equipment, such as a loader, dozer, excavator or similar equipment, as applicable to location.
* Performs daily routine safety and equipment operation checks including pre- and post-shift inspections on assigned equipment.
* Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
* Reports issues to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
* Acts as a lead or resource for other Equipment Operators, answering questions and providing training.
* Supports other areas of the operation, as needed.
* Maintains good customer relations and interacts in a professional manner with customers.
* Suggests process improvements to enhance efficient removal from the site.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Three or more years of related experience, including experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment.
* Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations.
* Basic computer aptitude.
* Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation.
* Basic computer programs.
* High school degree or GED, preferred.
* Valid driver's license.
* Commercial driver's license, preferred.
* Principles of employee training and supervision.
