With a focus on practical, real-life learning, we work hard to ensure the training our learners receive is industry relevant and we provide real industry skills that are highly valued by employers.TasTAFE aspires to be a place of innovation, creating new ways of training, finding solutions, delivering differently and increasing access for all.The RoleBased at our Clarence Campus, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to step into a teaching and mentoring role, helping shape the future of Tasmania’s built environment.The Teacher/Associate Teacher - Building Surveying will play a key role in delivering high-quality training to students looking to become the next generation of certified professionals in the construction industry.On any given day, your responsibilities will include:Teaching and inspiring students in the field of Building SurveyingSupporting learners both on campus and onlineDeveloping and coordinating teaching and assessment materials aligned with industry standardsProviding expert advice and guidance to students, employers, and stakeholdersWhat Will You BringTo be eligible for this role, you must meet at least one of the nationally mandated assessor requirements:Be licensed as a Building Surveyor Level 1 or Level 2 (or equivalent) in your state or territory, orDemonstrate current membership of a relevant industry association and be currently registered on the National Building Professionals Register in the Building Industry Control category (Level 1), orBe accredited under the AIBS National Accreditation Scheme as a Building Surveyor, or be accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as a building certifierYou’ll also need:Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying (minimum), with higher level Building Surveying qualifications highly desirableAn enthusiasm for mentoring the next generation of professionalsStrong communication and organisational skillsCertificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122) or a willingness to work toward it (TasTAFE can support you in obtaining this, free of charge)A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.Supporting a Diverse WorkforceAt TasTAFE, we encourage applications from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, people living with a disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, mature age workers and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.We are a diverse and inclusive workplace and understand the importance of flexibility.
